Ígnea Geologia & Meio Ambiente attends Lithium Business 2024 in Araçuaí, MG

Ígnea Geologia & Meio Ambiente participated for the second time in Brazil’s largest lithium event, Lithium Business 2024, held from July 2-4 in Araçuaí, in the heart of the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais.

Organised by R2 Valor Público, the event brought together over 2,500 participants and featured more than 50 exhibitor stands directly and indirectly related to lithium mining, as well as a craft fair and exhibitions of gems and minerals.

Ígnea took the opportunity to showcase and share a bit of their consultancy work and expertise in mining process management with the attendees, and also to establish valuable networking connections with other companies in the sector.

The company’s participation was highlighted by a lecture from their CEO, Giancarlo Silva, who gave a talk on the “Overview of Administrative Processes for Critical Minerals in Brazil.”

“We are very pleased to participate in Lithium Business 2024. The event is of great significance to the Valley and also to us. Congratulations to Professor Rossandro Ramos for his courage and vision in organising such a grand event,” commented Giancarlo Silva.

About the Event

The event, conceived by Professor Rossandro Ramos and presented by R2 Valor Público, gathered the main players in the Brazilian lithium market, with a special focus on the Jequitinhonha Valley. In addition to highlighting the local wealth, the event explored the potential for future opportunities in the sector, emphasising the importance of critical minerals in the economic transition to a zero-carbon footprint.

The growing global demand for lithium, estimated at 4 million tonnes by 2035, places the Jequitinhonha Valley in a prominent position, attracting significant investments due to its substantial occurrences of superior-quality pegmatites.

The event addressed the challenges, limitations, and opportunities of the industry through conferences, panels, lectures, and plenaries, while also providing a dedicated space for networking among the major players in the sector.

Ígnea Geologia & Meio Ambiente thanks the organisers and participants of the event, as well as the friends from the Podcast da Mineração for their partnership and efforts in disseminating knowledge about the sector.
