Aerial Recaonnaissance Permit
The authorization for geological reconnaissance, different from the authorization for research, is an instrument used as a previous method of geological investigation. Through this document the mining company can carry out aerial studies to obtain preliminary regional information that will guide the preparation of the future request for a research authorization.
The authorization will be issued by the National Mining Agency, but will depend on the prior assent of the National Security Council. The document will be valid for a maximum of ninety (90) days from the date of its publication in the Diário Oficial da União.
During its validity, the authorization for geological reconnaissance will guarantee the right of priority to the holder, who will have this period to carry out the request for research authorization. After this period, the document becomes invalid and the area will be considered free.
At the end of the air studies, the holder is obliged to present all the results of the reconnaissance to the ANM.
